Are you a creature of habit? Does routine rule your life? Do you firmly comply with the if-it’s-not-on-theto-do-list-it’s-not-important line of thinking? I do. Whenever I make changes, the first thing I do is put them down somewhere. A plan, a list, a promise – some way to formalise it, even if only in my head. And then I proceed to try and stick to it as steadfastly as possible. But it’s only a matter of time before I get overwhelmed by either how well it’s working, or how much there is to do, or just the fact that sometimes a plan looks so far into the future, it’s scary.
That’s where I am today.
New plan. New tricks. Two weeks down. And overwhelmed to the point of mild paralysis.
Routine is good. A plan is great. But eventually it needs to be broken down. Into a series of days.
This time around, I’m making special effort to take it slow. So I don’t to too much into the future or get ahead of myself worrying about things that may or may not happen.
Breaking it down. For now I’m just taking it one day at a time.
Just keep swimming. Just keep swimming.
